I love a good beauty event! There is nothing like being around a bunch of beautiful women, discussing one of my favorite topics: hair!
I am not your typical naturalista, as I am not a product junkie at all. I use a handful of products until they've been emptied, then I move on. I rarely even venture out into new things. When I received an invitation to attend the Ledisi loves DE tour, I was curious. I remember using the DE line back when I used to relax my hair. I (actually, my mom since I was only in middle school) would purchase whatever products my stylist used in my hair to ensure beautiful locks between salon visits. It got to be rather costly and I wasn't very versed on how to used the products, which led to many of them being wasted.
I was excited to see what DE was offering over 10 years later! Seeing that they had a natural hair care line made it all the better. And they were offering on-the-spot mini makeovers, too? I'm all in!
All in all, I had a great time, got to have my standard bun transformed into a more funky Janelle Monae inspired look, met my "twin" sister (the blonde bun), and learned about the new Naturals and Coconut&Monoi lines by Design Essentials. Although I didn't get to meet Ledisi, I enjoyed the experience!

My hair stylist for the day, Stacey of Speaking Natural Salon in College Park.
